Popular fictional history books are a hit to many of today’s readers because their plots give the readers amazement at how the fictional history seems to be so real.

In America, some of the popular fictional history books include Susan Sontag’s In America which won the National Book Award, 2000 and Michael Chabon’s The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay which won the Pulitzer Prize, 2001. 

Europe has also produced many popular fictional history books. Among these books are The French Lieutenant's Woman by John Fowles, The Name of the Rose by UmbertoEco, House of Niccolo series  by Dorothy Dunnet and The Agony and the Ecstasy by Irving Stone.

Popular fictional history books that include fantasy are Harry Potter by JK Rowling, Lord of the Rings by JRR Tolkien and The Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis.  All these fantasy fictional history books have been made into top grossing films.
